Welcome to the 2017 27th State Martial Arts Festival!
This is our 8th year of bringing innovation and excitement to Martial Arts Competition like NO other Event. Here are some of the highlights.
We are ecstatic to be hosting the 27 State Martial Arts Festival in the Miramar High School located at 3601 S Douglas Rd, Miramar, FL 33025.
We are very excited to be part of the new US Open series! Competitors will be able to qualify for the Championships, at the US Open, one of the most prestigious Tournament in The USA. It’s easy just win one and you’re in! All 1st and 2nd place winners at the Festival will qualify for special US Open Series divisions Competition next July in Disney World. Winners at the Championships will receive special recognition at the Saturday night Victory Showcase.
The other new divisions we’re excited about being able to offer is the World Kenpo Federation Forms and Self Defense. These divisions are for Kenpo Karate students to compete, who will be judged by qualified Kenpo Masters in forms and self-defense.

Kenpo Karate is known worldwide as one of the best
Self Defense systems ever created. The World Kenpo Federation will be
offering Competitors the opportunity to compete in Kenpo Self Defense
demos and Kenpo Forms. Winners will perform in Saturday Evening’s
“Showcase of Champions” on September 17th.
The 27 State Festival is proud to present JUSTIN ORTIZ’S FIGHTING SEMINAR, which takes place Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The cost to attend is $50 per person and the event will be held in the American Pride Martial Arts location in 2670 N. University Dr. Suite #206 Sunrise FL, 33322.
Everyone wins a First Place! These Non-competitive
divisions are for competitors who are NEW to competition. If a competitor
has NOT competed in more than one other tournament then they may choose FIRST TIMER’S Forms and/or Point Sparring. Special FIRST TIMER 1st place Awards are “won” by each competitor!
Open Sport Karate
The bulk of the competition from Beginners to Black
Belt will compete in these divisions. Open to all styles of Martial Arts
in Weapons, Forms, Point Fighting and Continuous Fighting.

With cash prizes and one of the best Grand Champion Awards for Men and Women in Weapons, Forms and Fighting and Youth Teams you won’t want to miss the area’s top Black Belt Competitors compete for the Gladiator Headgear Trophy
A message from our Festival Director
Our grand champion awards are “out of sight” one of the best grand Champion awards of the year!
Sr. Professor Manny Reyes, Sr., a 10th degree Black Belt in American Kenpo Karate and promoter of the Pan American Internationals will again coordinate our Open Sport Karate divisions along with Grand Master Hector Rodriguez. As the promoter of the Pan American Internationals a 6A NASKA World Tour Event. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA.) He is also the President of the Florida Black Belt Association (FBBA-X) and arbitrates and coordinates all FBBA-X Competitions in South Florida.
Grand-master Hector Rodriguez is the Director of Open Sport Karate and coordinates our Saturday Evening Showcase of Champions. He has promoted Martial Arts Events for over 20 years. He is Grand-Master Instructor and owner of American Pride Martial Arts. Originally born in Puerto Rico, He has trained in Martial Arts for over 36 years. He is currently a 6th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do(Jhoon Rhee), 7th Degree in Ju Jitsu (Jedan Ryu), 5th Degree in Atemi- Ryu Karate(Soke Joseph Williams ), and 4th Degree Haemukwan Hapkido (Gary Pointer). He is a Certified Instructor in Arnis by Greg Allan (Kali Silat Society). He also has extensive training in Shotokan, Goju-Ryu, Kick Boxing, and Kobudo. Grand-master Rodriguez has been operating Martial Arts Schools for the last 30 years and teaching for 35 years. Grand-master Rodriguez served in the US Army for 4 years in Active Duty, where he participated in Desert Storm 1991, was deployed to Somalia and Bosnia, and also participated in Operation Bright Star Egypt 1992. He joined the Florida National Guard where he received his commission as 2nd Lieutenant. He served for 12 years and he achieved the rank of Captain.
